Review: Burberry Liquid Lip Velvet
Luxurious, refined, and sophisticated are some adjectives that come to mind when one thinks of Burberry. Once again, the British label did not disappoint with the launch of their new Liquid Lip Velvet, a statement-making matte cream colour with a whipped texture.
Unlike most matte liquid lipsticks, which can be incredibly drying and unflattering (hello, lip wrinkles!), Burberry Liquid Lip Velvet has a comfortable and lightweight formula that keeps the lips supple and moisturised. Upon first application, the Liquid Lip Velvet appears to have a satiny and slightly glossy finish but once the product has completely settled into your lips, it dries down to a soft matte. Bonus points: it is highly-pigmented with a velvety texture – one smooth glide is all you need in order for a standout, vibrant lip colour. If you're after a more smudged-on-purpose effect, try dabbing the Liquid Lip Velvet onto your lips. Its creamy formula allows for easy blending and combining of different colours to give the lip colour more depth and dimension.
An amazing, high-quality product in an aesthetically pleasing packaging: what more could you ask for?
Burberry Liquid Lip Velvet has a total of 14 shades. Our favourites are No. 53 in Oxblood, a dark and vampy cool berry colour worn by Burberry Beauty ambassador herself, Iris Law herself, No. 17 in Dark Rosewood, a warm pink nude, and No. 41 in Military Red, a vibrant and true red colour.
Burberry Liquid Lip Velvet is available online at Burberry, Sephora, Tangs, and at Sephora ION.
