3 Easy Bohemian Hairstyle Ideas for The Summer
Has staying at home put your hair in some kind of rut? Fret not, we're here to help. Ahead, we feature three simple, boho-inspired hairstyles you can replicate easily from the comforts of your home as you prepare to venture out in the coming weeks again (while maintaining responsible social distancing measures, of course).
With the help of Parisian hairstylist and make-up artist Charlotte Dahan @chadahan, she gives us three trendy hairstyles to prepare for the summer: the wild braid, loose ponytail and wavy sidebraids, which are all hairstyles which have been spotted on the runway or celebrities. Here's how you can replicate them in minutes.
The Wild Braid
Preparation time: 4 minutes
"Once your hair is dry and untangled, spray it with a dry pigmented shampoo (ideally from the brand Osis +), to give volume and a good texture.
Use your usual hair parting, but leave aside a good part of your strands in front.
Let out a few strands of hair loose from the braid, which will work all the more if you do so at a gradient, and finally shake through your hair in front and on the top of the braid.
Nothing better than a braid roughly tousled to enhance a classic look, especially if you have long hair. Bohemian effect guaranteed. "
Loose Ponytail
Preparation time: 2 minutes
"In addition to the dry shampoo, apply a spritz of seasalt spray to obtain this wild wavy effect, very important before proceeding to the ponytail.
Use a classic rubber elastic to tie your hair after having "drawn" out the ponytail with your hand. Take a wick and wrap it around the elastic, then fix this same wick with flat pliers.
Loosen the ponytail with your fingers, isolate your two wicks from front to front and , for more naturalness, pull your baby hair out at the level of your face contour.
This hairstyle is perfect for those in a hurry, and those who are tired of wasting their time constantly putting their hair behind the ears. "
Wavy Sidebraids
Preparation time: 7 minutes
"We have seen this hairstyle a lot on the red carpets, but it works very well for a casual look too.
The wavy sidebraids, same as the loose ponytail, start by making a parting slightly sideways based on the tip of one of your eyebrows.
On the side with less hair, start french braiding from the hair closest to the ear, adding hair with each movement, down to the nape of the neck, then finish off with a traditional braid.
Tie with an elastic band that closely mimics with the color of your hair, spread the braid by hand so that it is loose. You can also add some small rings for a extra touch. "
