Meet K-pop’s Latest Fashion Darling: NCT’s LUCAS
Most recently, LUCAS of Korean idol group NCT was in Singapore to celebrate the launch of the Moschino [tv] H&M collection that will officially drop on 8 November. The K-pop idol debuted earlier this year and has since made his foray into fashion walking the runways of Seoul Fashion Week and shooting for fashion editorials. “I’ve always been interested in fashion. I actually went for SM Model before joining NCT,” revealed the 19 year old.
Just before the party, we spoke to LUCAS about personal style, rocking different fashion trends and his style rules.
#1 Don't be afraid to try something new
“Life is all about experiencing and trying different things. My fashion style is more hip-hop, but I’ve recently been experimenting with other styles to bring out my different charms. I like everything from the Moschino [tv] H&M Leather Biker Jacket and the cuter pieces featuring Disney Characters, to casual sweatshirts and pants that I usually wear when I’m off duty.”
#2 Be confident
“Fashion is a representation of personal style and wearing your fashion choices with confidence can bring out more of one’s unique charms. When I was younger, I wasn’t as assured. But after I debuted, I became more confident and believe that this allows one to exude more charisma too.”
#3 Wearing colour can make all the difference
“I’ve been shooting more fashion editorials in Korea and have noticed a wave of checkered outfits in the form of jackets and pants. But instead of the usual [black and white] hues, seeing these outfits in unsuspected bolder colours bring out a very unique feel.”
